I stopped in with a friend for a late lunch. Had salad bar and roasted pepper soup. The salad bar was fresh with a good selection and the soup was delicious.
Restaurant is on the side of the road & is just a place of awe for a comfortable setting. French Onion, it was well made, I say, maybe have more broth in the french onion as the soup was a bit concentrated. Toast the bread to crust it & to make a raft for the Gruyere cheese while the bread absorbs the broth of the soup. Salad was an option I opted for. The bar salad is of great choice to have before a meal. Fresh fruits & sauces were seen. Service was well kept as my water was filled every time it was near empty(5-star), Attentiveness(4-star), Attitude(5-star), Food(4-star), Temperature(4-star), Atmosphere(4-star). Overall, this restaurant is well-kept & is recommended to all. I am pleased to eat here once again.
Bar tender was very sociable. Made good recommendations for dinner. Overall, it was a nice, friendly place. This is why I enjoy visiting resort areas off-season. The folks working aren't frazzled.
As a party of 4 we had the fish dinner special on good Friday. 4 pieces of fish, fries, grilled brussel sprouts, coleslaw and included 1 trip salad bar. The fish was lightly coated and hot, a long with generous size fries. All was top notch including the offerings from the salad bar. Friendly staff and service was great. All of us agreed it definitely was worth the 22 price. Will definitely be back to try other dinner selections.
Absolutely love how this restaurant is before the bridge to downtown Charleviox. If you want a stress free lunch or dinner before going downtown, Jax offers a price worthy selection of food & amazing service. The atmosphere is peaceful & inviting with indie vibe music. The dining area offers booth seating & a soup/ salad bar. The bar side is dimmer with an L- shaped, wood bar top, high top tables & tv's in coordinated areas (no head turning needed). The Petosky stones embedded on the bar top adds an up north creative touch. Drink - Petosky Stone Gin Lavender in a cosmopolitan. Food - French Onion (as an appetizer) had the prefect salt balance with plenty of cheese, onions & croutons. - Caesar Salad (quality & quantity) had fresh romaine & caesar dressing (loved the amount - wasn't drenched) - Soy Shrimp ( Appetizer ) is delightful on a caesar salad. The ginger & soy is well balanced with the sesame seeds & very light spice.
Extremely good, flavorful restaurant right off the main drag and golf course in Charlavoix. All of our food was perfect from the wings, to the pasta, and the burgers. Would highly recommend if your driving down the western coast of Michigan.
7/29/2022 My best friend and I went in to eat last night. We couldn't get a take-out order, as they aren't doing take-out orders during their dinner rush. So we decided to go in. I'm so happy we did. We had a fantastic meal. I had Cherry Chicken Salad and my best friend had the Cod dinner. Both were fantastic. What helped this meal, was the service. We had a beautiful, peppy, friendly, personable and very informative server. Her name was SAICHELL. She was such a joy. If anyone wants a server that is very attentive, friendly and all around amazing. I would say ask for SAICHELL. We just met her last night but the next time I go to Jax, I'll be asking for her!! Thank you SAICHELL for being a joy to our evening. Jax...you've got a gem. I hope you know that. 7/2021 Linda was absolutely amazing!! I loved her sense of humor. Had the Cherry Chicken Salad, I would highly recommend it!
